We have converted a stone-built barn and stable into a delightful 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom gîte. Half of the stone-built barn was once the original farm building, the oldest building on the site, and you can still see part of the old stone fireplace in what is now the kitchen.
The gîte is next to our house, an old longère, in our tiny (4 houses) hamlet. Nothing much disturbs us except the occasional passing tractor. You are welcome to chat to our chickens or our sheep and we can offer offer you some very fresh eggs – you might collect
them yourselves - or perhaps some of our own lamb. But no promises on the lamb!
Whilst Pempoulrot is very tranquil, there is a huge amount to do in Brittany and you do not need to go very far on our quiet roads to find things to interest you. We live on site and are always here to help you in any way. Our particular interests are gardens, and traditional song and dance. But we are happy to point you at any of the many things to see and do here. And we can help with the language too !
Pempoulrot is just 2 minutes from the village of Kergrist Moëlou. There you’ll find our village shop where you can get most essentials, including fresh bread.
Rostrenen is just 10 minutes away where you’ll find supermarkets and a street market every Tuesday which is very good for fresh fruit & vegetables, especially organic (biologique) produce.
On arrival at Gîte Cœur de Bretagne you’ll find a welcome basket of some essentials, including a bottle of wine, to get your holiday off to a good start.
If you would like something particular getting in for you, ready for your arrival , just let us know and we can have it waiting.
